Back Pain Therapy
Back Pain affects about 85% of the population. At least 70% of
people can recover common back pain within 1 to 3 months.
Main causes of back pain is dysfunction of the affected joints,
ligaments and muscles structures. Stress factors can promote the evolution of painful areas, muscles spasm ,reduce oxygen level, sensitise the
neural pathways and creating a background of frequent and chronic or constant pain. Other origin of back pain may
involve mechanical , vascular, viseral and psychoenic components.
Back Pain Therapy Traditional Approach
Conventional Treatment can be either surgical or non-surgical,
medication, steroid injections, nerve root repair, radiofrequency to disrupt nerve function or surgical procedures, depending on your specific
condition. You may be under local anesthesia.
Other treatment method is by forceful spinal manipulation or
high-velocity spinal adjustments. The effectiveness of manipulation is greatest in patients who have acute pain and no leg pain or neurologic
deficits. Manipulation appears to increase spinal range of motion and straight leg raising but is not known to reduce intervertebral disc
herniations. About 50% of patient may experience mild, transient adverse effects such as localized pain.
Back Pain Therapy -
New Gentle and Safe method
There is an increasing shift towards a gentler and more effective
treatment for back pain. The method is know as integrative manual myotherapy. This includes trigger point pressure manipulation, gentle spinal
mobilization, muscle energy techniques, manual traction; soft tissue ice massage to break the pain/spasm cylcle to restore normal structure
and function to a joint or motion segment and strengthened inhibited or weakened muscles. Integrative manual myotherapy approach can be the intervention of choice to modulate chronic back pain .
